Springtime in Australia means lots of beautiful blossoming purple jacaranda trees, and beautiful blossoming people too

On Thursday the 20th of October 2004, we celebrated our 'Wedding Anniversary Minus One', and Friday, we flew off in Pergaretto Pulsar for our 'Minus One Honey Moon'.
On Friday, it involved a revisit to the beautiful and luxurious Bali-inspired Byron Bay Guest House. On Saturday, this involved visiting the Wollumbin Festival – held in celebration of the sacred mountain Wollumbin, which is seen in the background on the photo above.

We listened to the Bundjalung Elders Talking Circle explain about Dream Time, and about racism and oppression, for several hours. We also attended a 'body percussion' workshop with Greg Sheehan. That was good fun!

Saturday night, we went to a doof party in a National Park, entitled 'Bohemian Beatfreaks'.
The photo above is taken at around 8 AM Sunday morning.

And then of course, no honey moon without beaches...

...in short, Ozadise!

The unique Australian macadamia nut which grows on a certain rainforest tree and is roasted in chilli or barbeque spices, quickly has become an important element in my diet, apart from heaps of yummy seafood.
'Not only is the macadamia nut a taste sensation, the health benefits are also exceptional', says the Ozzies about their macadamia nut. They produce 34,000 tonnes of it every year.

Near Iluka, on Sunday, in the Bundjalung National Park, we saw two whales having some sort of a dance party far out in the sea. On our way to the doof party we saw lots of kangaroos along the roadside. The only koala I saw, however, was the beautiful Sunbeam Koala in our car... :-)

Two long blacks, an omelette and a muffin: Sunday breakfast in sleepy Ulmarra which has a 'Historic River Site'.
I probably shouldn't mention about the sort of classic small town sound track for the pitoresque river view: a noisy lawn mover

Our wine for the wedding party?

This is where we spent my last night in Brisbane, enjoying a scrumptious seafood buffet on a romantic old river steamer:
