I run the Global Volunteer Network, a non profit
organisation. We place
volunteers in community projects worldwide, including
Alaska, Ecuador, El
Salvador, Ghana, Nepal, New Zealand, Romania, Uganda,
and Vietnam. Our
vision is to support the work of local community
organizations in developing
countries through the placement of international
volunteers. We believe that
local communities are in the best position to determine
their needs, and we
provide volunteers to help them achieve their goals.
The network continues
to expand with new programs being researched.
Volunteers have the opportunity to participate in
a variety of educational,
environmental and community aid programs. Examples
of the exciting and
rewarding activities available to volunteers include
teaching English,
wildlife rescue, AIDS education, and assisting in
an orphanage.
